Where is the advertising guild?

I got an email from an organization called West’s Awake. It sounds like something I might want to look at. It could be a group or publication I supported in the past. I won’t check the links because it could easily be a scam. If it’s a real organization, it just missed the chance to get support.

I’ve often asked Where are the guilds? Science lost its guild a long time ago, surrendering to the fads and fashions of federal funds. Unions still exert their guild powers in a few industries, but most factories went to China. Altman takes full advantage of the lost guilds in literature and music.

A guild ACTS AS A BANK FOR SKILLS. It preserves hard-won experiences and methods, supports older members, trains apprentices to keep the skills alive, and fights counterfeiters.

Businesses who rely on advertising and media used to fight counterfeiters through regulations and through the BBB. Counterfeit advertising is so cheap now that it has UTTERLY SWAMPED OUT real advertising and messaging. There’s no reliable way for a real company to get its message to the public. A thousand spammers are simulating each message every day. The spam filter kicks out especially obvious crap, but it also kicks out some real messages. An important notice of an upcoming payment or appointment can easily be missed if it happens to trigger the filters.
