Interesting development. Spirit Airlines failed to achieve a merger, so it’s immediately starting to shut down. A crowdfunding movement has so far raised $22 million in pledges toward a MUTUAL OWNERSHIP arrangement.
The biggest unanswered question is the existing owners. They’ve already decided to shut down, which is the sole purpose of American capitalism. Kill the company, tear down the factory, destroy millions of lives, raise Holy Share Value!
Running a business is an unthinkable sin. Ownership can only be handed to a meme stock like GameStop, which will shut down the business even more dramatically and explosively than the dull old owners.
After the owners there are still a thousand hurdles, each of which will require far more than $22 million in bribes to politicians and regulators and NGOs.
Despite the impossibility, this movement shows LOUD AND CLEAR that normal people are hungry to restore NORMAL BUSINESS, and are willing to put their money behind their hunger.
