Well-written press release from the county describing an odd incident. Dude wearing a backpack stood in the parking lot of the precinct station. Pulled out a gun and loaded it slowly. A deputy who was watching from inside took the dude down. Eventually the dude said he just wanted to talk to a cop and figured this was the way to do it. The gun was a BB gun.
Suicide by cop? Maybe. Sounds more like he decided prison was better than outside, so applied for a membership.
Last year’s major arsonist Chad Horne was doing the same, though he had to commit a LOT of serious crimes before the satanic city accepted his application. A couple weeks ago the county arrested a middle-aged woman who had been lighting a LOT of fires in a homeless encampment near Edwall, 30 miles south of here. When asked why she was doing it, she said “I guess for excitement.”
I think these folks have decided that the rule-bound system of prison is better than the crazy shit outside. They can’t quite say it, perhaps because it sounds weak, perhaps for strategic reasons.
Rule-bound means that the AUTHORITIES ARE REQUIRED TO OBEY, not that the peasants are required to obey. Peasants are always required to obey. This distinction was SHARP in 2020. The Bush/Trump torture chamber gave you a “free” choice between strangling and starving. Prison administrations are NOT ALLOWED to starve you, torture you, or deprive you of medical care as punishment, and they take the requirement seriously.

Added later: Some of these folks may be paid by Polymarket fire bettors. I didn’t know about this monstrous supercrime when I wrote the above.
