Tipping point?

Sailors on the USS Lincoln have mutinied.

Conscription is a natural counterforce to imperial lunacy. Draftees don’t want to be there unless there’s a DAMN GOOD REASON, and unless they TRUST the government. WW2 fulfilled both of those conditions, so the draft wasn’t really needed. Everyone recognized that the government was on our side, and everyone recognized that Japan had attacked us. Even the sons of rich fuckheads willingly went into combat and died.

In 1945 Deepstate overthrew sanity and started running crazy wars without removing conscription. Korea was a crazy war and everyone knew it. Fortunately Ike won the ’52 election on a promise to end the war, and UNIQUELY IN ALL HISTORY he actually ended it. So the basic countervector wasn’t fully tested then. It was tested in Vietnam, and many officers died as a result.

Deepstate abolished the draft after Vietnam so we could run as many crazy permanent wars as we want, and we’ve acted on the decision.

Post-Vietnam military men are selected and trained to work as a team, and modern soldiers have an EXTRAORDINARY talent for leadership without friction.

We’ve been steadily ramping up totally unnecessary, loony and wildly destructive wars since 1990. Now we’ve reached the threshold where even these EXTRAORDINARY men can’t take it any more.

Later, Trump is doubling down as usual, mocking them and threatening to stretch their tour even longer. History speaks loud on this point. Overstressed and underpaid soldiers will bring down a regime faster than fake “protesters” or “courts” or “investigations.”

When the military refuses to obey, who do you call out to force them?
