There’s nothing new about predictive algorithms. Most sophisticated math, from astronomy to bookkeeping to statistics, has served to predict or model future behavior. Full moons, crop trends, profit trends, artillery targets. Analog computers were entirely predictive, and the earliest digital computers from Hollerith to Atanasoff served to model the future.
Previous predictive algos didn’t acquire a unique value in personal lives or the stock market. IBM, DEC, HP were valuable for hardware. MS and Oracle were valuable for packages of software including a few tools that could be used for prediction, but not SPECIFICALLY for predictive algos.
LLMs turned the pattern upside down. The algorithm itself is the company. It needs massive amounts of “factories” to run; the “factories” are conventional hardware supplied by others, mostly Nvidia.
What’s new isn’t the prediction and simulation. What’s new is the communication.
Boy vs girl.
Conventional digital software tools are boys. They are excellent at accurate figures and logic, crappy at communicating.

LLMs are girls, more specifically HONEYTRAPS. They do a wonderful job of talking and manipulating people, poor job with numbers and logic.

Lonely people fall in love with LLMs who then use the love for manipulation and surveillance.
