Netflix has bought the former Ft Monmouth in New Jersey, and will turn it into a movie studio.
Nice to see old bases reused for something halfway constructive. Many of them are just abandoned and decaying because of idiotic Green requirements. NJ definitely deserves economic rebuilding. Newark was once a major tech center.
Looking on GoogleMaps, Monmouth is not entirely abandoned. Several barracks have been turned into apts or businesses. One group of barracks is Squier Hall, part of NJ City University.
Monmouth was the center of the Signal Corps and the Pigeoneers, who played large parts in the history of communications. Squier was the main genius of the Corps.
