A dream this morning reminded me that I had skipped one of the populist candidates.
In the dream I was watching a street corner near two political meetings. The Andrew Yang meeting was hard to reach, requiring a tricky acute-angle turn into the parking lot.
After watching (more or less polling?) I talked to Yang. “Look here, you’re missing something. All of your fans are making this hard turn against traffic, and they’re doing it fast, on two wheels. They’re willing to make a difficult move for you. Are you ready to do the same for them?”
It’s a damn good question to any candidate, but the dream is especially salient because I don’t think about Yang at all. Consciously anyway.

Later: I don’t know if the dream was trying to be personal, but if I did get a chance to speak with Yang, my advice about the ‘hard turn’ would be loud and clear. He should give up the weird delusional sci-fi crap about “voting” methods. He should focus STRICTLY on solving actual problems. Nikki Haley is doing that. I don’t agree with some of her solutions, but at least she’s talking the right language. Yang isn’t even starting to discuss reality.
