Yesterday I donated to Wolf Richter as usual. He’s the only major writer who understands the real meaning of the end of QE. Everyone else, “left” or “right”, is screaming to get the free money going again, maintaining the bizarre fiction that zero interest is normal.
The donation process seemed strange this time. I selected plain debit card, but the transaction was routed through Paypal anyway. I’m trying to avoid Paypal when possible because they’re thoroughly political and partisan.
Mentioned this to Wolf in the comments, because it seemed like a fixable UI/UX problem. He explained that all credit/debit card donations go through Paypal. Only Zelle is direct bank to bank. Guess I’ll have to learn how to use Zelle.
Later: No, this isn’t a general rule, it’s just the way Wolf set up his site. I tried donating elsewhere with a plain card, and it didn’t route through Paypal.
