Motives vs motes

In response to the latest shift in UFO hemlines, smart people are speculating on the motives of aliens who send rockets a million light years through space and then crash repeatedly.

We should first ask why WE wanted to play the space game in the ’50s and ’60s. It made no sense and had no purpose except a literal pissing contest. Rocket science is not “rocket science”. Rockets are simple. Figuring long-distance trajectories has been systematic for hundreds of years.

We started the race hoping the Russians would lose. We hoped to prove that our ideology was superior. The Russians won.

At that point, as I’ve been SHOUTING REPEATEDLY, we should have LEARNED SOMETHING. We conducted an experiment and received the results. We then flipped the results, pretended we won, and continued doing even more of the same losing shit that caused our actual defeat.

Russia beat us at our own game because (1) their education was hugely better (2) their economy wasn’t wasting all of its money on satisfying the demonic urges of greedy billionaires. They were focused tightly on USEFUL WORK FOR EVERYONE, and they rewarded loyalty with loyalty. Russia never abandoned the old system of serfdom.
