After several weeks of essentially zero readers, I’m finally seeing a couple of non-bot readers in the WordPress statcounters. One reader is catching some items that I’ve forgotten about.
In this item I was highlighting a 1938 radio editorial by Raymond Gram Swing who debunked the then-current Trotsky and Niemoller trials.

This reminded me of the plain obvious meaning of ‘plotting to overthrow’. Whatever Trump was trying to do, or not trying to do, when he failed to condemn a brief protest in the Capitol, there’s no way in hell you could interpret his failure to condemn as an attempt to overthrow the government.
Who was president at that time? TRUMP WAS PRESIDENT AT THAT TIME. How can he overthrow himself?
Leaving aside all parties and personalities, a protest approved by the current president is not an attempt to overthrow the current president. It might be an attempt to create chaos, but every protest for every purpose is an attempt to create chaos.
As I’m tiresomely SCREAMING, all of this shit is a distraction from Trump’s REAL ACHIEVEMENT, which was NOT AN ATTEMPT. HE SUCCESSFULLY OVERTHREW CIVILIZATION BY IMPRISONING AND STRANGLING THE ENTIRE FUCKING COUNTRY FOR TWO YEARS. No previous ruler can point to such a HUGE achievement.
