Every job worth doing leads to completion. This is how we judge real talents and interests. If you enjoy DOING a task, it’s not necessarily your best talent. If you enjoy COMPLETING a task, you should pursue this path.
As I listen to these 1950s industrial films, I’m constantly reminded of the intended COMPLETION of WW2. The administration knew in advance that the war would end, and started planning in HUGE AND COMPREHENSIVE detail how to return society and economy to normal after it would end. Industries and businesses participated in the planning for postwar return to NORMALCY.
Harding was also trying for a postwar return to NORMALCY after Wilson’s forever wars. His effort was smashed by Deepstate, and the word itself became taboo.
Each New Deal project had COMPLETION in mind. Nothing was meant to continue growing without PRODUCTS and SOLUTIONS. Parkinson was forbidden. Each bureaucracy had to know where it was going, had to SOLVE the assigned problem before it could take on another task. When one project got tied up in Machiavellian quibbling and power plays, the higher level admins fired its leaders and brought in new leaders who intended to FINISH the product.
Modern wars, from LBJ to Bush, are meant to last forever. NEVER AGAIN would we return to NORMALCY. No postwar world.
The Bush “virus” war had no endgame, no VV Day. Each of the monstrous tortures faded out, leaving all of its Parkinsonian agencies and mechanisms ready to resume.
