Desistance = Don’t fight maniacs. Fighting INCREASES their power by exciting them. Sometimes you can take resources away from maniacs, reducing their power to do evil. Wars end when the aggressive maniac runs out of food and gasoline. Tyrannies end when the tyrant can’t mobilize money and armies.
