After being impressed by the learning abilities of the prosecution and judge in the Craig Wright case, I made the mistake of reading some “independent” “journalists”.
Highly unimpressed as always. I keep stupidly hoping that one of them will eventually show a grasp of reality and history, and they continue to disappoint. They constantly throw fake surprise, stirring up outrage and activism over normal and permanent government actions. Yes, it’s true that these normal activities violate all “laws”, but anyone who pays attention to reality and history knows that “laws” are fiction.
A journalist should know something about reality, and if he doesn’t know about a specific event or topic he should TALK TO PEOPLE WHO DO KNOW, and he should LISTEN AND ABSORB THE ANSWER.
That’s the entire job description. The judge and prosecutor performed the job admirably. No journalist performs the job.
Carver as always.
LOOK ABOUT YOU.
TAKE HOLD OF THE THINGS THAT ARE HERE.
TALK TO THEM.
LET THEM TALK TO YOU.

Later: A majority of people are now grounded in hardass Machiavellian reality. Journalists are proud of discarding the majority. Influencers who want to reach the majority are more interesting. I’m thinking of Andrew Yang and Vivek. Both stay firmly grounded in the experiences of normal people, without any myths about “democracy”. I don’t tune them out automatically. At the moment I think both are offering poor solutions, but because they have a ground connection I’m willing to keep listening, willing to change my mind if the Yang and Vivek approaches can DEMONSTRATE real improvement. Theory isn’t enough. Show your work first.
