Lately I’ve managed to pin down the vestibular stuff (probably Menieres) to spring and fall, and then more specifically to convective days. When wind is coming and going, and when popup storms are forming and moving around, the balance and tinnitus and general icky feeling are also moving around. Looking back on the daily journal, the correlation is fairly good.
Sure enough, here’s one research study that finds a STRONG correlation between Menieres episodes and daily deltas in air pressure.
The vestibular stuff can also be triggered by major stress, but I know when that’s happening. No mystery. This year I’ve cleared out most of the stressors, got sleep and exercise and diet under control, but bad days still pop up when the storms pop up.
I guess I should just follow the model of oldsters in previous eras and treat my ailments as a barometer. Wellsir, the canals are actin up. She’s gonna rain!
Laugh at your ills, pay your bills, behave yourself.

At any rate this gives me a New Shiny Correlation to play with for a while.

Checking back a month later, the correlation is still pretty decent. Good vestibular days turn out to be high pressure days, and poor days turn out to be low pressure days. Sometimes stress or anxiety causes more trouble, but those moments are always obvious, not needing external explanation.
