What does he think he’s doing?

The guy who runs the Spokane News facebook page has a good thing going. Facebook lists 270k followers, which is the whole adult population of the Spokane metro. I check the site several times a day, more often when power outages and windstorms are around. He posts police reports on crashes, overdoses and fires, and readers chime in with REAL JOURNALISM. There’s usually someone who lives nearby or drove past it or was directly involved.

This week he’s been driving readers away with CONSTANT posting of the SAME advertisement asking us to subscribe. The added item takes the place of the first few comments, so you can’t see what’s going on. It’s also ABSURDLY REPETITIVE, which is the exact opposite of news. If he added the request once or twice a day, it might be effective. But EVERY SINGLE ITEM is way beyond tiring.

Readers are responding to the idiotic ad instead of responding to the news items.

Normally a small business knows better, doesn’t try so damn hard to REPEL customers. Only governments and big corporations and mainstream media spit on customers.
