What your favorite programming language says about you.

Note that Basic and Cobol aren’t even there. Basic is mostly gone but Cobol is still very much alive and modern. Google shows a dinosaur as the Cobol logo, but apparently that’s a joke, not the official design.
Later thought. Most of these aren’t real logos anyway, just the name written on a shield-shaped thing. Computer languages weren’t branded products. The machines were firmly branded, instantly recognizable by shapes and layouts, in the same way that you could distinguish a Buick from a Studebaker. If you were in the tech world you could spot HP or GenRad or IBM instantly. The operating system or compiler was just the way you used a machine. You wouldn’t brand “Push the clutch and rotate the ignition key rightward”, and you wouldn’t brand “PUSH THE STACK AND ROTATE REGISTER RIGHTWARD”.
