Krauts always take everything too far, always prove a theoretical point instead of just making things work. Kraut machines, like Kraut minds, are precise, rigid and brittle.
In recent decades they decided to do Gaia, and naturally took it too far. Along with permanently ruining their own nuclear plants and permanently ruining their Russian source of the petroleum they refuse to produce, they decided to cover a fine productive coal mine with a deep lake to prevent it from being used again.
What happens when a large solid surface of CARBON is eroded by a steady covering of H2O? Lots of CO2, which will be good for plants whether the Krazy Krauts know it or not. Also lots of genuinely BAD things like sulfur dioxide and lead compounds. Lead is the worst of all common pollutants.
Good job of slowing down CO2, Krazy Krauts!
