An especially silly but cheerful dream this morning.
I was going to carjack a car and rob the people. But I noticed the car had an interesting shift lever, so instead of carjacking I asked them to show me how it worked. They showed me the details of the linkage. Then I walked to the house of some people I knew. I was hungry, so asked them if I could use the kitchen to cook some food. One of the people was an animated stick of Spearmint gum. They were friendly and let me rummage around the kitchen. Nothing worth eating, so I left and walked home to get some food.

Note all the so clauses. The dream scripter can cook up fake connections between anything, even shift linkages and animated gum.
One side of the analogy is prosaic. As an engineerish type I often think about shift linkages, physical or virtual. I never think about Spearmint gum or carjacking! Pausing to consider virtual shift linkages: The ADA work I’ve been doing this year is adding a column UI/UX to the existing floor UI/UX of my courseware.
