Trying to break away from the fire crap.

Altman is invading the world with theft, and the world is doing a pretty good job of fighting back now. Locally, Avista was negotiating with an unnamed prospective customer, then sensibly decided to halt.

Al French, a long-lasting county commissioner who is usually rational, was trying to bring in a HIGHLY DUBIOUS data center project by a company named Apricus Generation. The newspaper looked into it and noticed that the company doesn’t have an office or real documentation. The only known address is the founder’s house in Arizona. A previous proposal in Arizona was rejected.

Apricus was proposing a hydrogen production plant near the airport, with a data center as a sideline. Electrolysis is the obvious way to make hydrogen, and the company wanted to use wastewater instead of city water.

Without the AI thievery sideline, this would be a WONDERFUL IDEA, in fact a New Deal idea! Use electricity to turn waste into a REAL VALUABLE PRODUCT. The trouble here is the gaseous nature of the company, not the gaseous nature of hydrogen.

I’ve resolved to bring myself back to 2019 as far as possible given aging etc. I’ve tuned up my electronics workbench so it’s instantly available when I want to check a fact.

Well, here’s a fact to check! How easy is electrolysis? Electroplating takes massive amperage. Is the same true of electrolysis? Never tried it before.

Here’s my homemade breadboard.

I filled a glass with water and poked wires into the water, then turned on 18VDC. Sure enough the negative wire immediately started to accumulate bubbles.

It’s easy! Now we’re having fun!
