I’ll go out on a (so far unburned) limb with this one.
Premise 1. Arsonists are at work in several areas, not just the Catholic Criminalities zone west of the river. Some of them are clearly homeless or crazy, some are driving cars. Some are using matches, some using blowtorches, some tossing lit plastic bottles out the window. The same pattern occurred last summer.
Premise 2. Since Jan 2025, Polymarket and Kalshi offer hitman contracts on the likelihood of specific fires in specific places.
Conclusion left as easy homework for reader.
In sane times hitman contracts were illegal. Sanity no longer exists.

8/5: At the moment there are five “2nd degree burning” arsonists in custody along with the big one Farinacci. The arsonists are working hard and fast today, clearly trying to earn their pay from the bettors. Three new reports in the last few hours, one in the usual homeless haunt and one out north and one in the Valley area. Some reports turn out to be mistakes, but these sound more solid.
The cops are nabbing these killers fast. Cops are not the problem. Judges and prosecutors are the problem, along with genocidal city and state “legislatures” and world-destroying tech demons.
8/6 afternoon: Another arsonist caught in the same Catholic Criminalities area, fire stopped before it had a chance to grow.
They’re going to have a real rebellion on their hands faster than they wanted. Or maybe the rebellion is another bet. The imported California authorities are taking a high-handed arrogant approach, removing information, causing unnecessary confusion, and instructing the evacuees to take it up the ass.
8/7 A few new fires, probably the usual causes, not arson. Meanwhile most of the arsonists arrested in the last few days have already been released to do it again.
8/8 Three new fires, all suspicious. Arsonists reported in each. Fortunately the firefighters stopped all so far.
8/9 Now that the weather has calmed down so fire spread is less likely, the arsonists are also slowing down. Only three fires today, the usual causes including homeless campfires and farm equipment, none seem to be deliberate.

Bring back burning at the stake. Start with the arsonists as kindling, then toss judges and governors and mayors and presidents and bettors and tech demons on top after it’s roaring nicely. Crown it with popes and bishops for an especialy stinky decoration.
