Duane Jones, the father of radio advertising, would appreciate this 1936 RCA booklet. Dealers mailed it out to local farmers. It’s a proper almanac with sunrises, moon phases, zodiac, etc. The pages are interspersed with ads for RCA farm radios. Major radio companies had special low-voltage models for farms, often designed to run off the DC provided by windmills.
Duane’s fundamental: Don’t expect the customer to take a chance on you. First take a chance on her, then she will be inclined to take a chance on you.

Helpful hints for farm and home, how to make a soap gel for cleaning carpets and how to leave fallow intervals in a plowed row.

An article recommending radios, taken from the Farmer-Stockman published in OKC.

Like most radio booklets, the almanac also included a list of major AM and SW stations plus a log page to write down your own best stations.
Obeys all of Duane’s rules. REASONS to buy a radio, a GIFT of a useful book, and a SAMPLE of the enjoyment and utility you’ll get from a radio.
