I’m constantly slamming local prosecutors and judges who dismiss charges and release serious criminals so the criminals can continue stealing and burning. This time I can’t argue with the decision!

Seems like redundant procedure. Though unstated, it’s likely this guy was near death anyway and shouldn’t have been driving.
Counterquestion: What would happen if the suspect died before trial and a prosecutor continued pursuing the trial? I guess we’d find out if a suspect had done something truly serious and deadly like “distributing right-wing literature.” Sorosian prosecutors would execute everyone who had ever known or talked to the heretic, yea unto the seventh times seventh generation.
Looking up posthumous trial, it appears that most cases were inside the Roman church where heresy is eternal. A couple of non-religious cases were attempting to firm up a conspiracy charge where the other conspirators could escape if the dead leader wasn’t officially convicted.
TMI: This is why I stopped driving in 2000. I used to enjoy driving, but my attention or visual reaction or something was inadequate, especially on the right side. After a close call I figured it was bound to get worse with age, and I didn’t want to end up like this guy.
