I can tell you exactly where and when the “virus” originated. The Chinese variant started August 17, 1926, in Yangzhou. The US variant started June 14, 1946, in NYC. The British variant started June 19, 1964, also in NYC. Interesting similarity between the last two.

The Chinese variant was completely wiped out on November 30, 2022. The US and British versions are still circulating and creating more variants, so will require more “measures” to slow the spread.
