Dove stops the itch

Latest from Kirn:

None of the myriad products being boycotted now are products I buy anyway. It’s as though I knew something, but I wonder what it was. Avoid all goods that are heavily advertised? I suppose it was this.

Yup. I feel the same itch. Living a simple life means (1) I don’t buy most of the products that deserve a boycott. (2) When I do buy one of the products, it’s not substitutable.

I don’t drink any brand of beer, and I won’t boycott Dove soap. It’s not a brand, it’s a different product, proved by physical experiment. I’d be messing up my skin to make a very small point.

Political products are equally frustrating. After you figure out that “elections” are meaningless, you can’t be persuaded to boycott the “bad” candidate by “voting” for the “good” candidate. They’re all maximally evil.

You’d think a politician would figure out the Dove trick. When a product uniquely solves a real problem, it’s NOT BOYCOTTABLE. So far none of them have tried hard enough. Here in Wash, Loren Culp tried to offer a genuine solution, but he couldn’t get the pussyass sissyass cowardass chickenshitass establishment RePOOFlicans to go along. His operatives weren’t able to break through or end-run the blackmail barrier. The RePOOFs were solidly owned by Bezos, who gained trillions by keeping the NAZI TORTURE CAMP going.
