Deepstate loves the 4

I’ve been spending a lot of time in 1948 because it’s a close parallel to the current situation. A long war displaced everything in the economy and culture, and the people were hungry to resume normalcy after the war.

The ’48 election shared many of the current elements.

In the current mess, at first there was one serious candidate OPPOSED to the “virus” holocaust. DeSantis should have carried the torch, but spoiled his own campaign for reasons that aren’t visible yet.

In ’48 there were two major candidates OPPOSED to permanent military war. (Henry Wallace was the most passionate, but he was not alone by any means.)

Truman was all for expanding the permanent war to serve the Men Of Monopoly.

Eisenhower was seriously against aggressive war because he knew better than anyone else how to run a war, and how it destroys both the winner and the loser. Ike was a Democrat, and a large faction of D delegates wanted him to oppose Truman inside the party. One D, who was a friend of both Truman and Ike, talked him out of it.

On the R side, Taft was the presumptive candidate at first, and solidly antiwar. Harold Stassen expertly spoiled his primaries, so prowar Dewey ended up as the R candidate.

Result: No choice.

As always we had to wait 4 fucking years before the next fake choice. Deepstate loves the 4 year guaranteed contract on every war and torture and depredation. Four years of total freedom before the next vague chance of a disruption. From the other viewpoint, it’s a four-year sentence of torture for an entire country, with no parole possible.

1952 turned out to be a major disruption. Or rather a General disruption. By then the casualties in Korea were mounting, and the people finally got FUCKING TIRED of a meaningless useless war “justifying” all sorts of “necessary” wartime measures. Ike ran again, this time as R, and won.

1952 was the last honest election. Ike promised to end Korea and avoid future conflicts. He kept his promise, pulling out carefully and resisting Deepstate’s burning need to jump into Vietnam. He maintained FDR’s economic regulations, resulting in a long period of PEACE AND PROSPERITY.

Nixon and the Kennedy gangsters worked together to break out of peace and prosperity. JFK started moving into Vietnam, and LBJ took it all the way. JFK also cut taxes, paving the way for LBJ and Nixon to implement the all-debt government. A government that doesn’t rely on taxes is perfectly free to kill all of its citizens, so it does.

Since 1952 no candidate has kept a promise. In recent decades they don’t even bother to make meaningful promises.
