Manweller’s Rule: “Elections” are not allowed to change things. A candidate who threatens to change things will be eliminated, usually well before the “election.” A referendum that threatens to change things will be eliminated after the people have vainly “voted” for it.
Today’s example: Two years ago a referendum to protect natural gas from the Gaian demons passed strongly. Even Seattle residents, normally Gaian to the hilt, voted for it; otherwise it couldn’t have passed.
Now as always, the demon coven blasphemously described as a “supreme” “court” struck down the will of the people.
= = = = = START DEMON COVEN:
The Washington Supreme Court on Thursday tossed a voter-approved initiative that barred state and local governments from restricting natural gas and required gas and utility companies to provide natural gas to individuals or corporations, even if other energy sources are available. In a 6-3 decision, the court found that the initiative violated the state’s single-subject requirement and is thus “unconstitutional in its entirety.” The majority decision was written by Chief Justice Debra Stephens.

The demons take sadistic pleasure in punching and kicking the peasants AFTER the peasants dared to express a heretical opinion. Advising and checking the referendum in advance would be much less enjoyable for psychopaths.
When this referendum passed two years ago I wrote:
Seems to cover all the bases, and I don’t see any poison pills. All good, and astonishingly it passed. The building code provision is especially important. The code enforcers are the most committed Gaians, with the power to stop new construction and ruin lives at will.
I’m sure Manweller’s Rule will take effect, and the “government” will find ways to do crazy shit anyway, but it’s nice to know that even crazy Seattle doesn’t want to give up a clean source of energy that heats and cooks for most citizens of the state.
